To better inform the viewers by giving them video-based content to help explain today’s complex topics. To create clear, engaging and visually stunning assets that support online articles. These are not just little videos, these are high quality, beautiful visual stories.
Pitch directions
The first design direction is the 2D illustration style, using abstract shapes.
The second one is the combination of 2D graphics with 3D elements.
The third direction is collage style with hand-drawing lines. I used Midjourney to generate these images.

first pass Design
After talking with the art director, I chose the third direction because I wanted to add variety to my work and try a new style. Moreover, the third style has a more scientific feeling. The first pass’s challenge is to refine the selected style and make two more styleframes.
Notes: The first styleframe does not have a focal point and the highlighted areas are not eastern coastal cities. The second styleframe’s design is not successful because the sea level part is too small and hard to see.
Second pass
For the second pass, I kept refining the previous styleframes and created four more frames.
Notes: This style is approved and the animation should be clear and easy to understand.

Notes: Refine the shape of sea level, the previous shape looks like mountains, which is not accurate enough. Add more lines and texts to be more educational.
